Providing meals and hope to our community
Hope’s Kitchen was established last year by members of the Free Reformed Church of Southern River, providing meals for community members in need.

Our Mission
The current economic climate has led to increased poverty, resulting in issues such as domestic violence, child neglect, hunger and homelessness.
To identify those in need we work with:
Local Police
Community Groups
Local Government Schools
Our Own Networks & Experiences
Local Government
Other Charity Organisations
What We Do
As Christians we share the Gospel through service, and providing a hot meal is one impactful way to support families.
How It Works
- Meals funded by project funds and future church/community donations.
- Prepared, cooked and packaged by our volunteer team in the church kitchen.
- Deliveries every three weeks (currently 60 meals per run).
- Goal: fortnightly or weekly deliveries as volunteer base grows.

Our Journey
- With God’s guidance our first cook-up took place on Friday 7 March. What began as 30 meals quickly grew to 42 when local schools and groups joined in. Menus have included Butter Chicken & Rice, Dahl Lentil Curry, Stir-Fry Vegetables, and Drumsticks for dessert. We’ve seen God’s blessing in every delivery – the smiles and gratitude remind us why we serve.

just as I have loved you,
you also are to love one another.”
